Astra Aviation Services are pleased to announce its continued expansion into the air cargo industry, supporting Africa’s economic growth by providing quality in air cargo. Astra has joined forces with Air Transport Management, a logistics consultancy specialising in air cargo, adding to Astra Aviation’s current portfolio of ground handling and related services.

Air Transport Management offers in-depth cargo knowledge and expertise in all areas of the industry. Phil Eyre, Director of Astra Aviation said, “We are delighted to have linked ourselves to ATM. We can now offer a seamless service for all air cargo needs throughout the developing markets in Africa. Indeed, our current expansion into the Middle East will also be enhanced by this partnership.”

ATM was founded in 1995 by Neil Hougham, a thirty-year air cargo veteran. “Throughout the problems that have beset the aviation industry since the beginning of the new millennium, cargo has continued to grow, and all forecasters agree that this growth will continue well into the future. Air Transport Management has always offered specialist services in economic development, forecasting, and commercial analysis. We have assisted numerous airports and airlines to maximise their strengths and establish stable growth patterns.”

Neil Hougham will take up the position of Director of Cargo Services for Astra Aviation with responsibilities for cargo training, cargo systems, cargo GSSA and cargo GHA activities as well as the cargo economic and business development work.

Astra Aviation / Air Transport Management will be represented at the forthcoming Air Cargo Europe event in Munich, in May 2007.
